At the foot of The Great Dividing Range, lies Bonville Golf Resort. A place built over a quarter of a century ago, that would change the landscape of the Australian Golfing world by offering a combination of golf, food and beverage and customer service previously unseen. A place which now means so much to so many people, a place that so many would come to call their golfing home. As Bonville celebrates the stories of the past 25 years, people flock from around the country and around the world to experience this unique and iconic golfers paradise.
The par 72, 18 hole championship course is a place which for many has become the epitome of the golfing experience and that for many years, golfing groups have travelled from far and wide to enjoy. Over the past two decades, a dedication to making incremental improvements across the whole property has attracted acclaim and recognition in the form of high national rankings and multiple national awards. The property has been recognised as ‘Australia’s most beautiful mainland golf course’ for 16 years running.
A focus on creating a team of people that day in and day out offer a high level of guest experience creates an award winning business model and a golfing experience that is difficult to match.
In December 2016, Bonville Golf Resort was named by popular vote ‘Australia’s favourite golf course’ in the Golf Australia Magazine – ‘Australia’s 50 favourite golf courses competition’. This is an accolade that means a lot to General Manager Brad Daymond who said “The win is a reflection of our commitment to quality, our team’s continued ability to go above and beyond and our drive to create Australia’s number one golfing destination right here on The Coffs Coast!
The golf course itself has been long regarded as ‘Australia’s Augusta’ due to it’s similarity to Augusta National in the USA with its undulating fairways, natural waterways and the serene nature of the property. It’s an invaluable team of dedicated green staff who carefully manicure each and every square inch of the course to ensure it’s utmost quality. Golfers can expect forgiving approach shots, wide fairways and well groomed greens all set amongst a jaw dropping Flooded Gum forest where wildlife abounds. That’s something you just don’t get anywhere else in Australia and that is why Bonville continues to be such a drawcard for so many.
