Mordue has Albatross on 18

May 29, 2018

Resident sharp shooter and member at Bonville Golf Resort Warwick Mordue has taken aim at the 18th hole this week and the whole thing was captured on camera as it played out. The par 5, 18th hole is a dogleg left where a great drive off the tee often sets up birdie opportunities for the longer hitter. It’s rare however that a second shot is hit so well given that most players are generally hitting an iron shot from up to 180m from the green.

Mordue who often plays very well around the championship course admitted he wasn’t having the best round this particular day. “I couldn’t find my groove all day and it certainly showed on the score card” noted Mordue. That was until he took his trusted 7 iron and fired toward the 18th green from 160m out.

“I struck my tee shot so nicely and it sailed through the saddle running on to sit in the middle of the fairway just 160m out from the green. The second shot came off the club well and pitched about 2m above the pin located on the middle tier of the green. I watched it catch the top of the bank and it began to roll back and roll in. It was an awesome feeling!” said Mordue as he celebrated his amazing shot.
