Soon to be released by Footjoy in September will be their 2018 range of footwear. After previewing this range the pick I feel is the new DNA Helix Shoe. The DNA Helix shoe will feature a new athletic design, a new foam footbed for extreme comfort, and a new improved Pittards performance leather that is extremely supple and has a 2 year waterproof guarantee. The Boa lacing system has been refined in that the dial can now be turned either way for easy adjustment and comfort. The cleat placement in the sole has also modified to give a gain in stability and motion control. Look out for these in store late September and early October.
Also in store in October will be the new 718 and 818 range of Titleist irons and hybrids for fitting purposes. These irons have recently been seeded on the world’s professional tours for validation by the best players before being released to the public. There will be two new models in the range with a new AP3 and T-MB iron being added, whilst tweaks have been made to the AP1, AP2, CB and MB irons based on player feedback. From what I can see the main improvement in the 818 hybrids is that they have incorporated the same Surefit weight system into the club which is currently in the 917 range of drivers and fairway woods. We hope to have Titleist Fitting Ambassador Alan Hill back at Bonville in the next few months to showcase this brilliant new product.
