‘In-form’ Aussie Sarah Kemp will return to contest the Australian Women’s Classic Bonville from April 21st as she gains momentum into her 2022 LPGA campaign.
Kemp made a pleasing resurgence in 2021. She started last year with a strong joint fifth at the Gainbridge LPGA tournament in Florida where the only four golfers ahead of her were major winners. She made two further top-10s and coupled that with her best-ever finish in a major, when 19th behind winner Minjee Lee, at the Evian Championship in France.
Kemp was ruled out of the 2022 Australian WPGA championship on the eve of the tournament, at Royal Queensland Golf Club in January due to a positive Covid test. The disappointing start to the year only adds fuel to the fire as she eyes off a win at Bonville.
Kemp began strong but finished 5 over at Bonville in 2018 and believes that at 36, her best years of golf are still ahead of her. She will lead a strong field of Aussies including Whitney Hillier and Kristalle Blum among others still to be announced.
Professional golfers from over 30 countries will descend on Bonville’s Championship 18 hole golf course, in an effort to share in the $350,000 prize purse and tour points on offer.
